Glyphosate, the cancer causing ingredient in the weed killer Roundup, has been discovered in General Mills cereals, according to media reports. 
US News and World Report said recently that the Environmental Working Group’s Children’s Health Initiative found glyphosate in 21 General Mills cereals and snacks tested. According to the organization, all but four General Mills products tested contained high levels of contamination.
To read the report, you can click on the source link below. Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch allegedly contained the highest levels of contamination at 833 parts per billion (ppb). The Environmental Working Group’s Children’s Health Initiative said products should contain no more than 160 ppb.
Keep in mind, the International Agency for Research on Cancer said in 2015 that the ingredient is “probably carcinogenic to humans” and it has been classified as carcinogenic by California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment.
The ingredient is contained in weed killers and sprayed on oats before harvesting, according to reports.
